Updated intervention report from the What Works Clearinghouse

34
The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) has reviewed new research on Lindamood Phonemic Sequencing (LIPS).

LIPS is a programme designed to teach pupils the skills they need to decode words and to identify individual sounds and blends in words. Since the last WWC report on LIPS was released in 2008, there have been 16 new studies, two of which met WWC group design standards without reservations. Based on this research, the WWC found the programme to have potentially positive effects on comprehension and mixed effects on alphabetics for early readers.
